Deron Williams uses an iPad to sign $98M Nets contract

Written By Unknown on Monday, 17 September 2012 | 00:48

Tuesday night was still in Las Vegas, where Deron Williams participates in team training camp before the U.S. from London, but just before the Wednesday 1 ยบ to the east coast about an hour after 00:01 after the "grace period" in which NBA teams and players can negotiate, but not officially sign contracts the player most coveted free agent class of 2012 went on to write in their new contract five years, according to a value of up to $ 98, $ 8 million to run the floor of a new image for the Nets to Brooklyn.

Or, rather, as you can see above, the base outfitter 28 years of age, he put his fingers on the touchscreen, the signing of the agreement on his Twitter iPad and a photo opportunity, equal he shared his decision to stay with the Nets on Twitter on July 3.

And now that Williams will be about nine figures in five years, can afford to buy a stylus for the iPhone. (Count calligraphy, Deron, but not more than a pencil.)

About a half hour later - perhaps HOTEL Deron Wi-Fi has been slow - Brooklyn has officially announced the signing, issuing a statement in which the general manager Billy King named Williams as "in my opinion The top point guard in the NBA "and a central" Brooklyn fans should be proud. "

If the king agrees to take or allow another to be ", that is the best outfitter base?" the debate - maybe Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, perhaps, perhaps a healthy Derrick Rose - the latter point is true.

Network fans should feel excited to have blocked one of the most talented guards in the NBA in his first athletic young protagonist, as the team builds towards the importance of economics in the NBA today , which is $ 98 million, more well spent.

Import of Williams on the date of changes two years ago, with no guarantee that I would rather re-up was a commitment made by Giant King Giant and the team now, the Nets are praiseworthy for what is pay.

Williams was not the only player to block his contract or in the news, while most of us sleep. Hit the jump for one, and ventilated Summary bullet on Wednesday in the first movement and agitation.

Only a minute before his photo iPad Twitter Williams, Olympic teammate Blake Griffin told his Twitter followers had accepted a five-year extension to stay with the Clippers in Los Angeles that could pay up to $ 95 million.

The agreement was everywhere, but the 'sign for weeks, Griffin would have informed the clips in advance of the start of a grace period of July, when offered the complete package of five.

Players at new contracts are typically eligible for four years, the extensions, but under the new collective agreement, each team can rise to a novice player on the scale envisaged over five years, and Opt for Griffin.

The extension will be reported after the next football season, in time for the 2013-14 campaign, with Griffin scheduled to earn $ 7,200,000 for the year of his rookie scale as the very first draft choice in 2009 the NBA this years.

CM Punk Beats John Cena-WWE Night of Champions 2012 Results

Night of Champions while approaching, fans of wrestling most seemed to think that John Cena would leave Boston as the WWE Champion.

While some-kind-that almost happened, it was CM Punk, which actually ended up retaining his title and extends what has become one of the longest WWE Championship reign in history.

I always thought Punk would win tonight and into October the qualification he has held since November 2011. I just hoped that using the help of Paul Heyman to do so.

Instead, it was a very controversial final in which both Punk and Cena shoulders were on the mat wearing Punk left Boston the way they entered the city with the WWE title on his waist.

The end is not so clean should not be a surprise to no one, because it only confirms what most of us already knew anyway: that the fight between Punk and Cena continued.

Regardless of the outcome of Punk vs. Cena at Night of Champions, this fight was always destined to last beyond tonight's pay-per-view. If Cena won, Punk would have his revenge month guaranteed to Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. If Punk won, probably not clean, and I had to defend the title against Cena again, probably in Hell in a Cell

Now it seems like we're getting the second stage.

Punk as a heel with real, it is not surprising that this is the way things are playing out. Heels rarely clear victory in the WWE these days and Punk is testing.

He held the WWE Championship for 10 months, until the Night of Champions, only had one title defense ended in a bit "murky when he defeated Daniel Bryan at Over the Limit in May.

But the first time (of his reign current) is a real heel Punk defending his WWE pay-per-view, suddenly ended lucky to get the win over Cena. No surprise there.

I do not think anyone really needs to clean up Punk to pin 1-2-3 dinner tonight, and although I was not crazy about the finish of the game, he did not seem as weak as could be punk.

Punk is still, in fact, the WWE Champion, and we already knew (that still do this) will only be confirmed at the Night of Champions, just by changing the variables.

The WWE Championship is still around the waist Punk, and now, the story only gets better from now on, as many fans feel like Dinner "deserves" to be champion. In turn, that will add a "point of warmth for this fight and help a heel Punk became even greater than it already has become in a short span.

That is the goal in this case should be the WWE anyway: Punk To activate the company in good faith and high heels at the same time creating an intriguing story with Cena chased by the belt.

If Cena won the title tonight at the real "Super Cena" fashion, Punk impulse would have been destroyed, and there was much to do to save this story.

Instead, Punk heel and still more from week to week, and his rivalry with Cena extends more than many of us thought it would last.

At least Cena once again to challenge Punk at Hell in a Cell, and it is likely that the game will be the last meeting between the two PPV. Cena / Punk could even dominate the WWE Survivor Series and maybe for the rest of 2012.

Kelly warns Irish of overconfidence after upsetting Michigan State

Before Notre Dame is Michigan Saturday night, came to Michigan on Saturday night. Dressing to visit Spartan Stadium was soaped and crackling driven by trampling a top-10 team when Brian Kelly ungently pulled the attention of his team forward.

Michigan State had fallen cooked meal. Work so good, said in an effective and Kelly, among other things, the Michigan Wolverines are coming, so feel free to leave behind in the effort to cherish.

Consider one of the few times that players head coach doused with a bucket of ice water.

"As soon as we got to the dressing room (Kelly) took us to the earth," said the broker Close Wood. "He said he held, but that is nothing. Still have not reached our maximum. We did not do anything."

From Sunday, Notre Dame (3-0) has a bright ranked No. 11, his best time from the end of 2006. It has a bitter rival for visiting another game show in the evening. Does the memory of what happened last year in similar circumstances, it is possible bones of the face never adjusted correctly after Ireland had fallen on them.

Notre Dame gave a great 2011 promoted under-the-lights game against USC Pixy Stix preschoolers as freebasing. Kelly complained about the lack of "competitive grace" after a loss mistakenly shot. Therefore, a season full of possibilities now only so if Notre Dame avoid mixing business with pleasure.

"I did not become infected with success," Kelly said Sunday. "It's easy to hear how great you are. Avoid noise and we remain disciplined process."

It's easy, especially the best start in a decade to forget that they are fragile.

An unpleasant memory came Sunday, confirming that the increased security Jamor Massacre is lost for the year with a ruptured Achilles tendon - Definition of second year steps Matthias Farley, three quarters of The school will now be in his first year of real action.

The offensive line and ground attack found redemption on Saturday. The defensive front was still dominant. It is an excellent start, but it is easily compromised by the lack of experience elsewhere, and overconfidence or emotions out of control that may exacerbate the lack of experience.

"I'm 18-21 years," said Kelly. "We must continue to remember where they are, how they got here."

With the sun on Kelly had given the message several times already - at all. Not provide specific, but gave the impression that the management of pre-USC last year showing emotion always points to pre-crazy Michigan.

"This is a group that has learned from its mistakes, too," said Kelly. "Not only the players but the coaches. We learned that we need to stay focused and away from distractions."

Distractions is Notre Dame. That's life, when a record unbeaten, Michigan and one night a week as giant asteroid hit game, and that beats most alternatives.

In fact, Kelly said jokingly that the lack of trust and lack of interest "is not a good place to be." Notre Dame is in a good place right now. In an age of progress, the Irish next involves forget much of what they think they know about themselves.

"We take this game (Michigan), biting the throat a bit 'harder for the week," said Wood, "and turning away."

Extra points: Massacre will have surgery on his torn Achilles tendon this week. ... After the death of his grandmother and the girl last week, linebacker Manti Te'o will return to Hawaii next week for the Irish. Kelly ... Hopefully receiver Davar Daniels (ankle) is "full-go" against Michigan after being limited Wednesday.

Stingy 49ers defense denies Detroit in 27-19 win

The San Francisco 49ers 2011 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers of the stymied in Week 1, Week 2 log Matthew Stafford.
This defense stingy, opportunistic, once again making its mark as one of the best passing offenses in the league against the best and most prolific - and you can shake a.

Another milestone nanny refused Stafford, Vernon Davis caught touchdown passes of 21 and 23 meters Alex Smith and San Francisco beat the Detroit Lions 27-19 in a match of the night in September NFC powers almost up to its hype.

Smith completed 20 of 31 passes for 226 yards and extended his franchise record streak of 216 passes without interception. He led the reigning NFC West nanny (2-0) to its ninth consecutive victory in the series as the final victory of the Lions September 25, 1995. Smith took a tough afternoon in the old John Wendling and bloody nose, and later led to another touchdown. "It's tough as a $ 2 steak," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said. "I grew up eating a lot of them. Know what I mean."

The 49ers made their winning streak against the Lions in 12 games after Detroit's last victory at Candlestick Park November 2, 1975.

And after it warms greetings. Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz met with a warm greeting and shaking hands during pre-game warm-ups, then a shock semi-silent hug and when time runs out.
"I thought it was good," said Harbaugh.

Frank Gore led 17 times for 89 yards and a 1-yard touchdown, missing only his second 100 yard game this year and the fourth in the series.

Calvin Johnson caught 8 passes for 94 yards, but that was not enough, why the Lions (1-1) got less than 20 until their final drive on a cold and windy night by the bay. San Francisco kept Megatron secondary to catch a touchdown pass for the second consecutive game, forcing Stafford to rely heavily on the running game.
Another impressive outing of a defense that shut down Rodgers on for 30-22 victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field last week.

"This is our 'D''," tight end Delanie Walker said. "There are some dogs."
Stafford finished with 19 of 32 for 230 yards, a touchdown and an interception, missing a chance to become the first player in NFL history to throw for 350 yards in five consecutive games. Drew Brees of the Saints also did it in four consecutive games last season.

Stafford threw for 355 yards last week's 27-23 victory over St. Louis home, but also had three interceptions before halftime for the first time - and he said he could not do it again for the Lions win . Was never in sync.
"It has not worked hardly at all," said Schwartz. "I was the running game, the passing game, defense, special teams. We play better in all phases. Leave plenty of opportunities in the field."

The 49ers dominated on both sides of the ball 11 months to the day after meeting for a 25-19 victory at Ford Field in the hand of his first loss after starting 5-0 Detroit. Ended with a handshake and excitable Backslap Harbaugh who took the Lions coach Schwartz - and had to be separated out of the field.

There were some spirits Sunday as well. After Davis and Delanie Walker Cliff Avril took to the sidelines, while blocking a career move, Avril Walker gave a kick to the helmet. Lions right tackle, and Cherilus 49ers Tarell Brown pushed Gosden corner after a big hit by Patrick Willis Johnson in the first quarter.

Smith hit Detroit depleted secondary thwarted at every opportunity. In his TD, Davis won easily Wendling, regular safety Louis Delmas is recovering from knee surgery.

Smith beat Michael Crabtree left the country aboard for a gain of 17 yards, and after Davis scored on the next play. The Lions were without rookie Bill Bentley corner because of a concussion suffered last week and corner Chris Houston with an ankle injury.

David Akers kicked field goals of 36 and 48 meters to San Francisco a week after the connection of 63 yards to tie an NFL record.

Jason Hanson ended with field goals of 38 meters, 41, 40 and 48. It also lost the right upright on a 40-yard attempt at the end of the second quarter. The Lions scored their only touchdown on Stafford 9-yard touchdown to Brandon Pettigrew with 1:29 remaining.

"I'm not among the offenses that we have achieved our way," said Stafford. "We moved the ball well at times today against a very good defense, and we did not take our chances in the red zone, as they need it."

The 49ers ended their streak of 26 quarters simple spanning six regular season games without a turnover, and 36 consecutive quarters without a lost fumble by Davis, when he lost a November 06 last year in Washington. San Francisco has been trying to match the 2010 Patriots for the NFL mark of seven games without knowing the turnover.

After the first field goal Hanson, Kendall Hunter drop kick return after being stripped by Tahir Whitehead and Kassim Osgood recovered. This marked the first lost fumble in 18 career games with the average second year.

But Ahmad Brooks overthrew a step back in the third installment of the series that follows the Lions had to settle for a field goal.

San Francisco's defense delivered again at the next set of Detroit. Third-and-6 from 20, Stafford has thrown in the middle of the track with no one even close Dashon Goldson jumped to safety and an interception.
"We know what our defense is giving us," said Gore. "We agree with them."

A special teams mistake hurt the Lions at the end of the first quarter, when Drayton Florence, stuffed another corner, characterized by carrying on Akers. This gave the nanny a first try at 12, and Gore scored three plays later three seconds in the second quarter.

Detroit defensive contained in San Francisco the end zone on the first drive of the Lions, despite great pain. Chris Culliver received an intervention by officials debated transition replacement is indicated when a passage intended for Titus Young a penalty of 33 yards.

Ferrer defeated Isner 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 Sunday to give the champions five times ahead insurmountable 3-1 and a shot at a fourth title in five years.

They will face the Czech Republic on the way to the end.

Isner helped by 70 unforced errors, the fifth ranked Ferrer recovered to stay unbeaten on clay in the competition with its 16 straight victory.

Isner fell hitting the racket in frustration.

"Spain is the high tide mark to the Davis Cup in the last 15 years. Whenever we knew it would be close," said U.S. captain Jim Courier. "They have great individual players science, depth and passion for Davis Cup. NOT rocket. Has great ingredients and you should join and do a great job."

Ferrer and Nadal have said they would reduce the availability of the Davis Cup after helping to win the title last year's final against Argentina. While Nadal has been limited by injuries, Ferrer decided to return to his team now.

"This is the race where I felt most emotions are I am a team player," said Ferrer, who played a key role in Spain last three titles. "I do not know how long my career, so I do the best I can in the Davis Cup. (Captain Spain) Alex Corretja inspired me to play this season."

Spain extended its record winning streak to 24 straight and are unbeaten in the field of 26 series. His last loss was clay in 1999.
And, as in 2008, did not Christmas.

Isner had more unforced errors than twice as Ferrer capacity of nearly 15,000 seats instead of the Asturian coast. Seemed little "as the player who beat Roger Federer of Switzerland in the competition earlier this year.

"The Spanish team was very good," said Isner. "They won the important points, and is a bit of an unpleasant experience for me because I wanted to contribute as I did in the first two links, and that's a credit (Nicolas) Almagro and Ferrer, who won two My points of his. "

The American started well, breaking many of his last 28 straight winning an attempt Ferrer, who attacked the baseline. A couple of his 16 aces helped him get his head straight when Ferrer sailed much in the first set tie-break.

Isner broke up momentum quickly, though. He began struggling with his forehand, which helped Ferrer, who saved four of six break points he faced, draw and still find his rhythm.

Isner undid his step as he lost his service - he scored 143 mph in the 1 September Ferrer won a triple break point in the seventh game of the third set, and the 10 th ranked American hit a forehand long to be broken.

Later, Isner dropped his racket to the ground and kicked before Ferrer moved a game of victory.

"I was going to fight, but in the fourth set was a bit 'on a roll," said Isner. "I do not think it all points to release my service, I became a great service in the fourth set, and he was playing with confidence."

Isner frustration delivered the fourth set when he launched his racket to the ground and stepped back as Ferrer broke to go up 2-1.

Suspensions Vacated for Players in Bounty Case

4 players suspended NFL for his role in what the league said was a rewards program conducted by members of the New Orleans Saints had their suspensions by a group of unemployed appeals Friday, allowing them to reach their equipment and play the first game of the season this weekend.

The decision represents a major victory for the players time, which was immediately reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell. However, not yet clear.

The panel ruled that Goodell retained the power to regulate to participate in an "intent to injure" mode, as it is considered conduct detrimental to the league. Goodell still may decide to suspend, in theory exactly the same time. Goodell is likely to reach a new decision on discipline in the coming weeks, the league said.

"In line with the decision of the panel, Commissioner Goodell will be in accordance with the instructions, a quick determination of the discipline imposed for violating the NFL pay-for-performance/bounty rule," a statement said the championship. "Until that determination is made, the four players play and deserve to be reinstated after this weekend."

Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, who had been suspended for the season, can not play on Sunday due to injury. But the Saints Will Smith was suspended for four games, and the Browns Scott Fujita - who was a member of the Saints at the time of gifts and was suspended for three games - could play. Former St. Anthony Hargrove, who was suspended for eight games, is a free agent.

The appellate panel concluded that the size of the systems of the league said it was the place was a bit 'of both the inspector and said he only had the power to discipline players for part her implied intent to injure opponents

The panel, saying the seriousness of the matter deserves caution, as it was not clear what Goodell had in mind when he made the rules, Goodell user to adjust their laws accordingly if part of it was because he wanted to punish players for salary cap breaches.

"The panel recognizes that this procedure is perhaps uncomfortable, but believes that architecture is dictated by the ACB, which creates a unique set of skills," this sentence.

The decision does not affect coach Sean Payton, who is suspended for the season, interim coach Joe Vitt, who is suspended for six games, general manager Mickey Loomis or who is suspended for eight games.

The decision was a setback for small Goodell a process established by common agreement the league collective bargaining with the players, but it opens the door for the league and players to reach an agreement that would end a controversial subject that has consumed much of the season.

The players have remained there ever was intended to harm their opponents. He said the money was offered only as a reward for great achievements or games, but not for the enemies to focus their injuries.

"Thanks to everyone involved in the process of this solution," Smith wrote on Twitter. "And all those who have supported us throughout this process".

The test is probably closer. It is unclear what kind of discipline the players are willing to accept an agreement if they have been offered by the league and the players' union which has issued a statement saying he was happy with the decision to fight in the League the process used to decide new Goodell. Vilma attorney, Peter Ginsberg, said Vilma would be willing to meet with Goodell as part of the process.

"We have always maintained that there is a just and equitable to do so," said Ginsberg, who has called Vilma surprised by the decision. "We hope this decision will give Commissioner Goodell a chance to reflect on what has and what has actually happened over the players and what should be an appropriate solution.

Believe that when the commissioner hears evidence and sharing information, the Commissioner himself could come to the determination that a suspension would be inappropriate. was plenty, there was no intent to harm and are confident that the process will be useful for the Commission to reach this decision. "

In a note sent to the team after the ruling, which was obtained by The New York Times, the league said the ruling does not undermine the ability of the players in the league discipline or to question the results of the alloy .

Andy Roddick masters the media

Written By Unknown on Thursday, 6 September 2012 | 21:23

NEW YORK - After Andy Roddick announced his retirement, the analysis of his career began. He was asked what is missing also what feels most proud of - and then came the question of wildcard.

Roddick was asked about his favorite conference.

After covering a pressure range of retirement (Kim Clijsters, Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras), I know that you could almost take bets on how long before a player can pass a reference to how annoying it was dealing with the media.

Sometimes a player like Roddick pulled kindly bone writers respect the work the media does, but it is clear that the press conferences in the ranking of a site close to being on hold technical support in the field of entertainment.

So Roddick press conference favorite? A reporter asked Roddick said he had in mind. It was the end of the night last Friday, after a second-round victory at the Open, Roddick stopped the game.

"What can I say to make you look better in your story?" Roddick asked. "You tell me.'re Looking for something. Maybe, just can cut the s --- and you can tell me what you're after."

Roddick, who was not a direct or angry, he was right. It can be fun, intelligent, moody or, depending on the weather, but not always cooperative, nor should it be. I can not count the number of times I've heard - or said -. "History is written, now all you need is a quote"

And after a press conference to try to get an athlete to fill this gap. One question that might begin: "I do not think ..." Or a short introduction to a reporter about bringing a player to a conclusion and this term.

Tracy Austin, a former tennis great that the transition to television after his career, said he had seen this as an athlete, and on the other side. He heard another player say something like this week.

"All you're doing the same question, but you're asking a different way," he heard Austin. "Are you looking for a definitive answer?"

Sometimes Roddick - or Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova, or any number of other experts, athletes smart - do not want to be guided.

Those athletes journalists hard or just playing with them as if they were fictional characters in a story written? There are times when Roddick is correct that a journalist is not listening to their answers, and seeking confirmation that the opinion I had. Roddick joked with a reporter Friday night was finally agree with that, now that he is retired.

"But what to do and I'm fine with anything," said Roddick. "No problem. Now have no consequence."

Roddick fell thoughtful and engaging with the announcement of his retirement. I 'freed him to open a little' more. The announcement began a little 'lovefest between Roddick and his fans, the community court, and even the media, in their own way.

"Andy is one of the most memorable kind in the history of tennis," said Austin.

Roddick was rarely half race so easy, especially after a loss. After a victory, it was revealing and fascinating, and often very funny, with a sardonic wit. But after a loss, which can be as short unnecessarily.

Former American Lindsay Davenport said that press conferences are not easy for each player.

"You go there, win or lose, what to be," said Davenport. "It's very difficult to deal with. Few people stop to take them down, and others do not. Seen in Roger [Federer], even when he was winning every Grand Slam and reaching No. 1, was all handled with grace. He is very understanding that everyone has a role to fill and work to do, and do not take it personal. "

The postmatch press conference may not be the best way to get a player, anyway.

Imagine your worst day at the office. Now imagine you are asked to stand in front of a group of people who are not your friends, and dissect every mistake. They can ask for reflection, responsibility and penalty three minutes of questioning.

Austin said: "[The athletes can be asked], this statement is contrary?" If you win more? Can improve the most? Are you retired? . This is the kind of impression that work is as the same time, you're asking - we've seen the press - are asking these questions to someone who is just off a loss or charge of these things. '

Davenport said away from the game gives the player more when it comes to back and forth.

"I never felt I had a difficult relationship with the media and I never feel like I have a chip on my shoulder about it," said Davenport. "The others do, and this is the interesting passage.

But I think any player, once removed from the game, and if it's a year, three years, four years, you begin to see a different light, and see that there is more that goes into it than just two people to play tennis. "

Or, more likely, Roddick could start to see the media more as an opportunity than as an enemy. It has a sports radio program.

Tennis is a sport in which the transition from player to commentator is well paved, prickly personalities such as John McEnroe and Austin Davenport, who works for the Tennis Channel.

New York Giants - Dallas Cowboys Kick Of 2012 NFL Schedule

East Rutherford - A good start is what is at stake this time the New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys in the opening game of the NFL season.

The stakes were much higher than the last time the enemies of this NFC fought to close the regular season.

New York won to claim the division title on the way to the Super Bowl title. Dallas has been left out of the postseason.

Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium, the winner will have the advantage in the first divisional race.

For Eli Manning and the Giants Super Bowl Champions, this will be an opportunity to silence critics and detractors who have played several times after beating the New England Patriots in February to claim his second title in five seasons.

The giants heard everything. They were lucky to make the playoffs with a record of 9-7. Not really beat the Packers and 49ers games were just delivered. There is much more, but that's the point.

Not any more.

The aim of the players is to show that Tom Coughlin built the bridge in the car 65-year-old urged built to connect the end of his career season 6-0 for the title of the 2012 campaign.

"The leadership we have in this team, which is the backbone of the bridge, if you will," said defensive captain Justin Tuck. "I think we're in a good place in terms of where you come into play."

The Giants are confident and do not care what they say to strangers.

"We've proved that we the people," safety Antrel Rolle said. "We could care less that. Allow to viewers. We just go out and play ball. And that's what this is all about.

Least we can take care of the kind of recognition and they are always there and we are crowning no coronation. none of this matters to the 2012 season. "

Cowboys Jerry Jones face a much different after a 8-8 campaign that ended with an embarrassing 31-14 loss to the Giants on New Year's Day.

The owner mince words, fans who boasted that his team kick the Giants back in Dallas when the club meets for the second time this season on October 28, knows the window to return to Cowboys aging years glory of the franchise is fading fast.

"It's a great opportunity for us, as I see it," said Jones, the opening of the season. "Everyone is so very important. Has all the love for the world that discusses the quality of the team to be successful there would be very significant.

"As in any NFL game is not as ultimately end up in one way or another, but it is a really great game in front of the entire world of sports, games with high visible against world champions ".

Ron will be back in the spotlight. He still has to take the kids to a degree, and many wonder if it will collapse after the end of the season when Dallas lost four of their last five games, including two of the Giants.

"I think more care of yourself," said Ron last game. "This is what feeds the season ... and it makes you want to remember this time so I can improve on them. As a team, we have adopted an approach that we have to improve. Believe we did with staff and our approach and the way the boys have earned. E 'was a marvel to watch. now is the time to take it to the field. "

There are a couple of important meetings in sight.

Manning and receivers Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks combined for 14 receptions for 237 yards in New York's 37-34 victory at Dallas on December 11 and had 11 receptions for 254 yards and two more entries in Divisional play deciding.

In the offseason, the Cowboys signed former chiefs corner Brandon Carr as a free agent and moved eight points in the first round of the draft to take another corner Morris Claiborne of LSU.

The key to success in the postseason "was Giants defensive line's ability to pressure the quarterback. The attack will be led by All Pro Jason Pierre-Paul, Tuck and Osi Umenyiora fellow Pro Bowler twice.

Dallas has renewed its offensive line, signing veteran guard Nate Mackenzy Bernadeau and Living, then tackles Tyron Smith and Doug Free changes sides. Center Phil Costa at center back.

Both games run better than this season. The Cowboys 'DeMarco Murray is healthy after he injured his ankle in the first Giants' game. New York, which finished last in the league race, should be better with a quick first round David Wilson back Ahmad Bradshaw.

The Giants have some weaknesses Cowboys can exploit.

Michael Coe is the surprise starter for New York after the end of the season injured corner Terrell Thomas and Prince Amukamara took out the first game. Rookie Jayron Hosley, the third round of the draft, is battling a problem with my feet pain turf.

The other area of ??concern for the Giants tight end. Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum reported knee injuries from the Super Bowl. Ballard is no longer with the team, and Beckum will start the season on the physically-must-not-do list.

Former Cowboy Martellus Bennett, who signed with the Giants as a free agent, will be the primary target of Manning tight.

"I'm happy to have a chance in this game, the home team as the defending champions of the Super Bowl," senior offensive tackle David Diehl said. "This is a great game. Per minute This is a game that came out that we had time travel as a team, but we also know that when they hit the division by taking over last season, is It was a game that had been around from the start. "

Diehl believes this will be a heavyweight fight in which both teams will not be thinking about last year.

Former No 1 Roddick to retire after US Open

Written By Unknown on Friday, 31 August 2012 | 07:49

Instead of following a slow out of the top of men's tennis at the edge of 20, Andy Roddick decided to move away from the sport.
Roddick, 30, announced at a press conference Thursday that will retire after the U.S. Open, which means a man who has been the face of men's tennis for the U.S. Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi retired may passing the torch as soon as this week.

The first opportunity for Roddick to extend their farewell tour will be Friday when he meets with Australian talent Bernard Tomic of 19 in the second round of the U.S. Open.

"In some big moments this year, I knew I was done," said Roddick. "Coming out of Wimbledon, I felt like I knew. Playing here, I do not know what it was, but I could not imagine that I am in a year. "Whatever my faults are, I always felt like I had never done anything halfway.

This is probably the first time in my career that I can sit here and say, I'm not sure I can put everything in her physically and emotionally. dont know if I disrespect the game by inertia at home. "

Roddick was the best player of American men for most of the decade, reaching number one in the world for the first time in November 2003, winning 32 ATP World Tour titles and 33 victories in the Davis Cup. Her only Grand Slam title was at the 2003 U.S. Open, but reached the finals at Wimbledon three times, falling to Roger Federer each time between a heartbreaker fifth in the 16 to 14 September 2009.

Output Roddick will shine a light on the lack of talented young American tennis to fill the void.
Hard-serving 27 years, John Isner into the top 10 for the first time this year, but its appearance 2011 / U.S. Open final 4 is the only time I did it to the final eight of a Grand Slam .

Veteran Mardy Fish, 30, reached number 7 in the world in August last year, but injuries and signs of age he was sent down to No. 25 a year later. And promising 24-year old Sam Querrey has recovered from an injury-filled 2011 season back in the top 30, but has yet to prove he can still get to the second week of a Grand Slam.

What legacy Roddick in sport depends on whether his career is in comparison to some of the other greats of his time, or on its own merits.

On one hand, he used his powerful serve and powerful straight following a decade of fixture 10 and keep America relevant in men's tennis. On the other hand, has never been able to say unequivocally that it was the best in his sport, always overshadowed by Roger Federer in his prime and overshadowed by the likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in the last years.

Injuries and age have reached Roddick this year more than any other, which undermines the power of their brand of service and forced to rely on basic strokes gradually decreasing. He lost in the third round or before the last Grand Slam tournament and fell to number 22 in the ATP rankings.

No. 9 S. Carolina runs to 17-13 win over Vandy

NASHVILLE - The ninth-ranked South Carolina fighting cocks became one of the worst nights I go through a Steve Spurrier-coached the team to open the 2012 season.

Luckily, the old ball coach was back Marcus Lattimore and Connor Shaw becoming a strong performance with a bruised shoulder.

Lattimore ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while Shaw added 92 yards to help South Carolina rally and take a 17-13 victory at night to Vanderbilt.

'' Our guys did not give up and I think we're in good shape, but man I hope we can play much better on offense a week,'' said Spurrier.

South Carolina came with high expectations after going 11-2 last season and second in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference. Lattimore then rummage through the first transport, and Shaw had his first pass was intercepted by a criminal at the top of the Gamecocks' four games of the night.

Worsened when Shaw took a helmet to the back of your right, throwing shoulder late in the first half.
He went to the locker room where he said he got a drug.'''' The young quarterback lost the first two series of the second half, before returning to South Carolina and through the center of the field until the unit's advantage in the fourth quarter.

'' It was very good, but get a win, especially against Vanderbilt in this place,'' said Shaw.
Spurrier said Shaw injured his shoulder, but it is dislocated. Spurrier said Shaw also said that he could collect the final minute the first opportunity to ensure that the fighting cocks ran out the clock to seal the victory.

'' It will be a little sore. "I think it should be fine. Had some good races.'s Been a bit 'wrong.'s What we wanted,'' said Spurrier.

The Commodores came up with three catches and forced two turnovers and beat South Carolina 276-272 in total attack. But South Carolina has had a 115-17 advantage in the fourth quarter, the Commodores and was discovered at the bottom for the last time with 1:47 left when Jordan Matthews can not handle a pass from Jordan Rodgers opportunity for fourth.

Gamecocks defensive back D.J. Swearingen Matthews seemed to understand his arm before the ball arrived.

And a new officials called Vandy fans do not carry the long list of complaints.
'' Did the SEC just came out with very clear rules about talking about servants and what happens after the game,'' said Vanderbilt coach James Franklin when asked about the game. '' 'Trying to get a ticket?''
Matthews declined to comment on non-call, but he waved his arms in search of a flag.

'' I get more open,'' said Matthews.
The fighting cocks also had five catches and Shaq Wilson came up with an interception to halt an offensive threat that Vandy has established Lattimore 1 TD of 29 yards in the first quarter.

'' I hated that to happen, but I had forgotten,'' said Lattimore of his disability. '' After a few laps, I started to feel like myself again.''

purrier used three different quarterbacks, including senior Seth Strickland, which is just to the staff as an owner, when Shaw shuffled to the sidelines near the conclusion of his right arm to his side to protect sore shoulder .

South Carolina finished with 67 yards in the air, a poor result for a Spurrier-coached team.
'' We could not get much, so we had to at least try to run and get a touchdown or two and let our defense play,'' said Spurrier. '' And fortunately our defense kept them to 13.''

Despite the bad start, South Carolina jumped to a 10-0 lead. Vanderbilt came away with 10 consecutive points to tie it going until the end of the first half.

Rodgers threw a 78-yard TD Matthews in the second quarter as Vanderbilt scored 10 consecutive points. Carey throws put Vanderbilt ahead 13-10 with his second field goal, a 44-yard line with 6:51 remaining in the third quarter.

Shaw, who has won nine of his 10 starts, he returned to the game with 6:02 remaining in the third quarter. He approached him three years before the drive arm to win games.

The big play was a 20-yard pass to Justice Cunningham. Officials at the corner of Vanderbilt situation Andre Hal hitting a defenseless receiver up and down, beating the old Cunningham.

'' We were given one of the worst nights of passage that we had, but Justice Cunningham caught a huge and gave us a penalty payment,'' said Spurrier.

Hal tried to compensate with a penalty of 52 yards the kick return home, but the Commodores who returns after playing three-and-out to lose momentum.

2012 Paralympic Games begin in London

A nation which has suffered a small dead end Olympics less than two weeks, had the chance to return to life at night and resume exactly where you left off, as the Paralympics open with the other Opening Ceremony taking his text from the storm, but the relief of exploration in British history.

Preface 11 days of competition, the theme of the gala was the lighting. This resulted involve anything from Handel's Eternal Source of Light Divine in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the apple falling on Isaac Newton Lincolnshire garden to celebrate Stephen Hawking of the Higgs particle .

The great astrophysicist and Sir Ian McKellen in the role of Prospero, who shared MC duties with Nicola Miles-wild as Miranda, singer basic lines of Shakespeare: "O wonder / how many creatures are here / How good is handsome! Oh, wonderful new world / that has In't people like that! "

This time around the queen had to do was stand up and make a short speech. Nobody invites you to follow his striking performance in the next James Bond Bread people join or sing a duet with Beverley Knight. Like the rest of the 80,000 in the stadium in Stratford, sat down to watch the Paralympic Opening Ceremony threw the spotlight on the role of science to help change social attitudes and culminated with the lighting petals of the 205 new long-stemmed Thomas Heatherwick The raid pot calling from the top of the tower adjacent Anish Kapoor, undertook the final leg of his journey of an athlete coupled with a zip.

"Prepare to be inspired, get ready to be dazzled, be prepared to move," said Sebastian Coe viewers. He was talking about the 503 events in which medals at stake, but could be described without compromising the culmination of a four-hour gala, which came with a performance by members Autisticus Spasticus Ian Dury Graeae Theatre Company and the The appearance of a giant version Alison Lapper Pregnant by Marc Quinn's sculpture of women without limbs that once looked down from the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.

They were no doubt why we are here - and the degree to which we Ludwig Guttmann, a neurosurgeon Silesia who came to England as a refugee from Hitler, has identified the possibility of using sport to help recovery of paralyzed soldiers and women who were previously considered beyond salvation.

In front of the world media this week, the South African runner Oscar Pistorius, his legs were amputated at an early age, he made the point that Paralympic athletes want to be judged not on disability, but ability.

In other words, the 4200 competitors from 164 countries, and did not like his ability to feel compassion for its members missing. The fact is, however, that this group of villagers came to London 2012 athletes more bulky than previous occupants. Just more stories are taken. If so, we would not be here.

And "thanks to them we now know something about the implications of being born without a fibula in both legs (Pistorius) with multiple congenital arthrogryposis (Lee Pearson, owner of nine gold medals flaming horse Sydney, Athens and Beijing ), or without hands or feet (Brazilian swimmer Daniel Dias.)

We have learned to recognize the possibilities of realization that there are still around and jump into a pool and broke his neck (female rugby player in wheelchair Kylie Grimes) the loss of a leg in childhood meningitis (100m teenage prodigy Jonnie Peacock), or lost both legs in a railroad train (jabalinista Nathan Stephens) or a Circle Line train on 7/7 (sitting volleyball Martine Wright) .

He gave us a nudge, especially a deeper understanding of the "transformation", according to employee eloquently Guttmann goal in founding the Stoke Mandeville Games for the paralyzed, he said, was "to transform a patient with severely disabled as taxpayers. "

There was no sentimentality Guttmann. A film in black and white exhibition brings together a bedridden patient who confesses to a loss of confidence in the recovery. "Now cut that out there," the doctor takes the freshness of its delivery maybe just a bit exaggerated by the camera.

His reward, before his death in 1980, he went to see the beginning of the transformation of the concept of the Paralympics modest, and therefore a change in public perception, not only for athletes with disabilities, but the disabilities.

Pistorius said this week from his personal experience of this process. In supermarkets, he said, parents often became their children away from the view of prosthetic legs. But once you have the opportunity to speak with the children, telling them that perhaps their original legs went away because he could not eat vegetables, shock and feelings of otherness and quickly disappears forever.

He noted with satisfaction that young people who showed up for the Paralympic Day in Trafalgar Square a year ago, "I had the normal reactions that people demonstrate disabled athletes - were friendly and happy."

The UK, he said, had taken care of persons with disabilities "a very surprising - a lot of people around the world will be forced to watch the Paralympic Games through the eyes of people in the UK and this is a big deal. "

These games are the real thing, okay, reflecting the Olympics in any way. They have their own files to improve performance illegally, as increasing blood obtained through various methods of self-torture, suited to the letter in a newspaper family.

A sponsor Paralympics - Atos, which verifies the employability of people with disabilities on behalf of the government - is accused of using his association with the event to clean his image.

And there is a dispute about the ability of the Paralympic Games to create an important asset in a time when disabled people in the UK suffer from drastic cuts in employment and the provision of financial support.

A part of the real world, in fact, share, and sometimes emphasizing its real problems and difficult to solve. But for the next 11 days, as we learn the rules of the ball and sitting volleyball, try visceral thrill of racing wheelchair and see the blind to play football by hearing and feeling, which also be a part completely squeeze the last drop of pleasure from an investment of £ 9.3 billion, which seems to have delivered the goods.

Martell Webster signs with Wizards

An area with limited options for Wizards has become one of the lists after deeper forward Martell Webster finally signed a one-year contract with the team Wednesday.

The Wizards reached an agreement with Webster last week, but needed a few days to get the documents together in a contract worth $ 1.6 million, according to league sources.

"Hammer offers a combination of versatility and shot over their experience," said Wizards President Ernie Grรผnfeld in a statement. "Adding to the list he gives us another solid veteran presence and gives us the flexibility of our teams in both the position of guard and small forward positions."

Webster, a career 37.4 percent three-point shooter in seven seasons with Portland and Minnesota added another perimeter threat for a team that finished 28 th in three-point shooting percentage last season.

The former sixth selection in 2005 NBA draft, Webster gives another option in the Wizards small forward after the trade of Trevor Ariza and re-signed Cartier Martin.

Chris Singleton started in 57 games as rookie small forward position last season, mostly by default. Rashard Lewis has been injured or ineffective for most of the season and Martin did not join the team until the end of March. The 6-foot-7 Webster also can slide and play escort Randy Wittman providing more versatility and veteran experience to the wing.

Webster has averages of 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds and has a reputation as a decent defender. Averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 47 games last season, but two back surgeries before the season has helped his career shooting under 33.9 percent from long distance.

The Timberwolves Webster bought for $ 600,000 last month rather than pay him the $ 5.7 million that would have won, making him a free agent. To beat the Wizards for a workout last week at Verizon Center and came to an agreement soon.

The Wizards now have 14 players under contract with a view to training camp, which begins on October 2 at George Mason University.

Redskins sign Billy Cundiff

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, 28 August 2012 | 07:23

The Washington Redskins signed former Pro Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff on Tuesday.

The decision came two days after he was released by the Baltimore Ravens Cundiff and just a day after Washington cut Neil Rackers.

Cundiff, 32, is the second kicker Washington roster, joining Graham Gano. A Pro Bowl player in 2010, dropped Cundiff Sunday after the Ravens decided to keep rookie Justin Tucker not recruited, rather than nine years of experience.

Tucker was 5 of 5 on field goal during testing of the first five preseason games in Baltimore and showed the strength of his legs 32 years old Cundiff. Tucker made ??two field goals of 50 yards or more, Cundiff was 1 to 6 years past that distance.

Tucker was invited to camp as a free agent draft pick not to challenge Cundiff, who missed a potential tying the game, 32 yards against New England in the second drop in the AFC Championship Game. Ravens coach John Harbaugh liked the way he recovered from Cundiff Miss fundamental but decided Tucker was simply the best option for Baltimore in 2012.

The Redskins broke away from Rackers and win tabbed as their primary kicker after a contest that was decided mainly on the training field.

The Redskins attempted only two field goals in the first three preseason games, both Rackers. It is made from 28 yards and missed from 54.

Winning the 25-year-old lost the NFL maximum of 10 field goal attempts last season, but five are being blocked. He made 74 percent of his attempts since he joined the Redskins during the 2009 season, the second worst percentage in the NFL during that period.

Rockies spoil Dodgers debut of Beckett, 10-0

DENVER - Josh Beckett was decent in his debut Dodgers.

On this night, however, should be dazzling.
The pitcher tried to keep Los Angeles right in the game until the team has recently come to big hitters can come across the plate.

Only it was not according to plan.
Reliever Jeff Francis and three were combined in a four-hitter as the Colorado Rockies beat the Dodgers 10-0 Beckett and night.

'' Do not expect that you excluded, that's for sure,'' Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.
Beckett (0-1) was acquired in a megadeal players new contract with the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. His career in Los Angeles had a bad start when he gave a homer to Tyler Colvin on his second shot, a line of 91 miles per hour that ended in the second deck.

He allowed three runs in 2-3 innings May as the Dodgers fell 2 1/2 games behind idle San Francisco in the west of National. '' I've only been here a couple of days,'' said Beckett. '' I still feel things. How to go, I'll be more comfortable.''

Meanwhile, Francis (5-4) settled right in. He scattered three hits in five entries and hit a season high six batters. Josh Roenicke, Rex Brothers and Matt Bรฉlisle combined to shut Bรฉlisle pitching in 2 to 3 innings to earn his second salvage the season.

Colvin had a great day at the plate and added two runs as part of a triple eighth inning of seven races that broke a tight game. Wilin Rosario had two home runs in the frame.

Francis made his way out of a difficult situation in the fifth after being out with a single and a double to Luis Cruz AJ Ellis. Francis Beckett Poncho then Shane Victorino - a 68 mph curve - to end the threat.
It has a little "his fist as he walked from Lomita - a rare display of emotion usually reserved for the pitcher.
'' It's been a bit of 'the turning point of the game,'' he said.

With Francis and Beckett on the hill, was a rematch of Game 1 of the World Series 2007. In this context, Beckett threw seven innings and allowed a run en route to a 13-1 victory. It's the tone of the series as Boston swept the Rockies.

Since then, Francis has undergone an operation on his shoulder that has been left in 2009 and spent last season with Kansas City. He started this year in the minors Cincinnati before returning to Colorado, who called the ninth overall pick in 2002.

In its passage through the Rockies, Francesco was very productive in Lomita. And "one of the franchise leader in wins (60), starts (166), (965 entries) and strikeouts (654).

So this was one of his most memorable victories?

'' It's funny, you know, because it's only five entries. In the world of starting pitcher is really nothing exciting,'' said Francis. '' In our role on this team, it's our job. That's what we do. Therefore, it is very satisfying. It's strange to be here and I think he did a great job -. I threw five entries''

The Dodgers hope a change of scenery for Beckett results in a change of fortune. Boston struggled this season, going 5-11 with an effectiveness of 23/5.

Beckett was a key part of the Red Sox on their way to the World Series title in '07, but was considered one of the leaders when the team struggled in September and missed a playoff spot in the last day of the season.

Reports of players drinking beer and eating fried chicken in the clubhouse during games came later, and worse behavior Bombastic Beckett fans.

But that's all in the past to Mattingly, who said before the game that'' Beckett becomes a little "do it again, for a guy who comes from a place that has a negative atmosphere around.''

After the game, Mattingly said he liked what he saw.
'' (Beckett) did what we ask our kids to do,'' he said. '' I just could not do anything for him.''

According to Boston, the Dodgers also took Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto, which meant I inherited about $ 275 million contracts. That's a lot of payroll for the Dodgers and has to take some kind of reference to the West team like the Yankees.

'' I do not know if I would go that far,'' said pitcher Clayton Kershaw. '' The Yankees have a tradition of that Dodgers win, but we won something. It's been 20 years since we won a World Series someting. Is, the Yankees can spend some "money.
'' And apparently, you can do that too, now.''

The Dodgers also recently acquired infielder Dominican Hanley Ramirez and Victorino from Miami to Philadelphia - offering that as expectations rise. It playoffs or nothing for evaders.

'' If we are not going to the playoffs and World Series, then it is a good season,'' said Kershaw. '' That's probably true in each season, but our team, if you look on paper, we should win games by running in the field and should be done after the season and we need to go further in the postseason. No excuses now.''
