Sadler wins Nationwide race at Chicagoland Speedway

Written By Unknown on Monday, 23 July 2012 | 02:03

Elliott Sadler, you may need to see your yellow race favorite after the Nationwide Series NASCAR Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, although it was a little green. "

Sadler took advantage of two yellow cards at the end of the race and fought through a stomach virus that had spied for the weekend to earn his third win of the season.

"It made a hole yesterday. Richard (Childress) came to me and asked me:" I think a backup driver? '"Said Sadler." I put my foot in my mouth and told Richard not need it. I knew I had to support it. "

He took the lead after a caution flag came out when Brad Sweet with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. turn leading the race to the pits. An accident with five laps to the end took another precaution, and Sadler is the best restart thanks to a push from behind by Justin Allgaeir.

The victory extended the advantage Sadler National series for 11 points over teammate Austin Dillon. Stenhouse remains third in points, 19 points behind.

"We had to get something new momentum to our side," said Sadler. "Only we were able to resist."

The caution with which gave advantage Stenhouse Sadler led a lap back, but was able to catch a wave, put it around the back of the renewal package.

Stenhouse car, which was the fastest all day, seemed to be the best so far, as she ran through traffic toward the front. Like other teams struggled to changing climatic conditions in the circuit, Stenhouse maintained its stable configuration.

Sadler was within a second, the warning when the end of the day has flown.

"We definitely had the car to beat," said Stenhouse. "Precautions for only every other form of fall."

Sam Hornish Jr. had hit the back of Kyle Busch, which forced him to Brendan Gaughan and put two cars on the outside wall. It took more than five laps to clean up the debris, which forced the race into extra laps and a final green-flag white-checkered.

"I've been wanting red flag because we had a couple of laps at the end here," said Stenhouse.

Before giving up the initiative, Stenhouse was in front of 135 laps, and was sure that, if not the last incident, would have made the trip to the winners circle.

"(Justin Allgaier) just pushed (Sadler) so far out there, not only that there was nothing I could do," he said.

Childress said he never thought to toss around Sadler and feel over time.

"I was going to leave," he said. "Sometimes it's good to have an insurance policy. This is worse than giving your wife, I believe, give your car."

The Spanish champion twice extended his lead in the standings to 34 points in pole position to win the German Grand Prix on Sunday.

For the third time this season, Alonso was able to ride home ahead of the rest of the NASCAR field on his Ferrari, which has an effective end to end.

Governing body of motorsport, the FIA, has determined that the motor map of Red Bull has not violated the letter of the law - while suggesting that the rules can be adjusted in the future.

Lotus Renault Kimi Raikkonen finished in fourth place after a relatively quiet career with Sauber cars Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez behind him in the fifth and sixth.

The four times winner of the German Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher could only finish seventh after starting third on the grid after a wet qualifying session.

Vettel Red Bull Mark Webber, teammate finished eighth after his disappointing last victory at Silverstone in England.

German Nico Rosberg and Nico Hulkenberg completed the points paying position in ninth and tenth.

Championship Lewis Hamilton is confident that the retired only Hockenheim, fell after suffering a puncture early in the race and eventually bowed with about 10 laps to go. He was well outside the points.

Alonso now leads Mark Webber with 34 points in the standings, with Vettel two points behind in third place.

The trio head is starting to take a gap against the best opponents, the Finn Raikkonen, world champion of 2007.

Vettel first five attempts to win the race from home have been unsuccessful, you can now expect to remain in second place, after a stewards inquiry.

Formula One, Bernie Ecclestone, the figurehead of business did not participate in the race after saying he had planned in advance.

Bob Osborne cited health concerns confidential with his decision to leave the No. 99 Ford, who was locked in a crisis, as Edwards finished last season tied with Tony Stewart in Sprint Cup for Hunting . The championship was won by Stewart in a tiebreaker.

"I had the pleasure of working with Carl Edwards in the last nine years and during that time, the focus was to build a championship caliber program," Osborne said in a statement.
"At this point in my life, however, concerns with my health made it necessary for me to change my role within the organization."

Osborne, who directed Edwards to 18 wins and two runner-up finishes in the points, move to a position of Roush Fenway Racing for top management. Will be replaced as team leader Chad Norris, who has been with Roush since 2005 as a team leader in the Nationwide Series and trucks.

"This transition is not easy, but I'm grateful to have the full support of Jack (Roush), Carl and the entire organization. I also have the greatest confidence in Chad Norris, and I look forward to working with him as we keep looking championship in 2012, "said Osborne, who has asked for privacy from the NASCAR community.

Osborne had to run the No. 99 team since 2004, and Edwards, who has gone before in the last 13 races this season.

However, Edwards is locked in a race of 52 defeats in a row dating back to Las Vegas last season, and point 11 ° in the classification that is in danger of losing the game of the season. Edwards has only worked with Osborne's Cup

"I can not say enough good things about Bob Osborne," said Edwards. "I am very grateful for what he did for me as a pilot, and is undoubtedly one of the smartest guys in the sport. I am also grateful because it will remain a resource for me and our team we focus on these last few races. "

Timothy Peters wins NASCAR trucks race

Written By Unknown on Saturday, 14 July 2012 | 23:30

Timothy Peters left the best driver in NASCAR Truck Series history to beat once in a late restart.

Given another chance to Ron Hornaday Jr. with 10 laps to go, Peters took control and eventually took a victory to go along with his lead in the race for points.

Peters won the race in the NASCAR Truck Series at Iowa Speedway on Saturday night, diminishing their first win of the season and extend his points lead to 12 points over Justin Lofton.

And the victory of his career fourth Peters, who has passed Hornaday on the final restart of the race to become the third pole sitter to win a truck race in four events in Iowa

"I know that Ron is considered a reboot of the king," said Peters. "We started well and have a good restart and hit the corner."

Peters left his place Hornaday in the championship series four times with 51 victories in his career, in a rebound with just over 30 laps. But Peter has another shot Hornaday and use the low line to take the lead for good.

Hornaday finished second, followed by Matt Crafton, the winner in Iowa in 2011.

Johnny Sauter was fourth, and Lofton was fifth. James Buescher led 91 laps of the 200-mile Iowa oval 0.875 before blowing his right front tire two-thirds of the way through the race.

Hornaday said he was informed by his team just before they went to save fuel, which was probably half a lap short. Its tires were not in their best form, or leaving them without enough to keep at bay Peters.

"We had a pretty good truck. We made some changes in the operation. We played hard. Good enough," said Hornaday.

With the Sprint Cup and Nationwide regular in New Hampshire during the weekend, the number of trucks had a clear path for himself only the third time in nine races this year.

Peters, who went four points ahead of second place rider Lofton and rookie Ty Dillon, won the pole for the first time in 2012. Nelson Piquet Jr. also began in the first row, followed by Buescher and Lofton.

Peters took the bass line and lead slid past Buescher for 42 laps in the event. Buescher fell to fourth place as a result of a security, with Hornaday into the second, but Buescher regain the lead shortly after Peters Jason Leffler was released, resulting in a reboot.

Buescher Peters and quickly separated from the rest of the field, with Hornaday dropped more than three seconds behind in third place. But everything changed when the tire burst of Buescher, sending it to full speed in the high-banks oval to the steep wall of Iowa.

Sauter went to second place behind Peter, who seemed to have the race sewn surprisingly Hornaday took control just over 30 laps.

Hornaday holds his lead in a reboot earlier, but Peters has had the strongest trucks out there, leading to 87 laps.

CUP-Hornish Has Fresh Opportunity

Written By Unknown on Thursday, 12 July 2012 | 06:57

Hornish Jr. has sent the team owner Roger Penske, a text message a day after the suspension of AJ Allmendinger made his desire clear: if a drug test not marginalized Allmendinger, Hornish wants to drive the No. 22 Dodge.

He is getting his chance this weekend in New Hampshire, where Hornish Penske has cards to fill the position vacated again on Saturday night, when Allmendinger was suspended hours before the race at Daytona.

"I sent a text to Roger, basically saying that if I needed, I'd be more than willing to find ways to make it work," said Hornish. "I had to talk because I did not want anyone else to the point there, or anyone else has the opportunity to speak out because I did not say anything."

This is a new opportunity for Hornish, who tried to rebuild his career in the past two years.

He spent most of last season without a walk as the difficulty of sponsoring Hornish in third Penske made the discord in the organization. "It was a huge drop in one of the most decorated pilots in the American IndyCar history.

Hornish has left the series in the NASCAR season finale in 2007 armed with three championships and 19 victories, including the Indianapolis 2006 500.

His desire for a new challenge has led Penske to move Hornish to NASCAR works, which once fought and did not show enough improvement to justify a place in the elite Sprint Cup. In three seasons, had eight top 10 in only 106 openings. His best result was the 28 points in 2009.

Penske kept it, and the organization has worked all last season trying to build a program Hornish. E 'meet in the Nationwide Series, Hornish this season running the full program. Through 16 races, has nine top 10 and is fourth in the standings.

However, the Sprint Cup Series is where Hornish wants to be, and got the call last Saturday to get to Daytona in a hurry.

Hornish finished 10 th in the National race on Friday night and returned to North Carolina. Penske officials withdrew a television studio in Charlotte, where he was an analyst in a live television program, and flew back to Daytona International Speedway.

Allmendinger came in minutes before it was to come and drive the car to someone else soon.
Even if a cut tire took place at the end of 33 º, Hornish appreciated the opportunity.

"You know, I was on the lake in the morning, doing a TV show in the afternoon and began to run at Daytona during the night," he said. "After all, is not that bad of a day."

This time, it has a week to prepare.

Penske Racing has decided that it was in the best interest of the team to appoint a replacement driver for Sunday even before the situation has been resolved with Allmendinger NASCAR.

Allmendinger did not pass a drug test taken at random 29 June and his manager, said Wednesday that the driver tested positive for a stimulant.

Allmendinger has asked for his urine sample "B" to be tested, and the suspension is at least through this process.

Hornish is not seeing this opportunity as well as a chance to get some seat time in the Cup series

"It is no secret that I want to be in the Cup, and this is not the way I wanted to get here, but I wanted the opportunity, when available," he said. "They gave me this opportunity for two weeks and I'll try to do the best I can with my ability. I know this could be just two weeks, regardless of the outcome that we have, and all that I can do is blessed by the opportunity I have now. "

Hornish wanted the opportunity to December last year, when he suddenly opened after the No. 22 Penske unexpectedly split with Kurt Busch at the end of the season.

Allmendinger is approved, and said that managers of the team said it was because he had built a national program for Hornish and could jeopardize the sponsors.

"They said that last year when he decided to AJ in the car that really was not considered because we have a commitment in the Nationwide Series," said Hornish. "You can not say that I was not disappointed, knowing that it is a race open to an organization that now would be good.

"You know, I do not know what Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Matt Kenseth would have said if. Izquierdo (Roush Fenway Racing) and have come to others instead of giving Ricky the trip, but I understand that you can watch us take care of all those who have joined this national program. "

Hornish was so happy with his role on Penske, which until now has been to contribute to the development of a second full-time program and assure sponsors of the National Alliance of parts and Wurth have made a good investment.

Hornish believes his team has shown that is a competitor of the National Championship. And your time taking the place of Allmendinger, no matter how long it is, I do not hurt this effort.

Tony Stewart continues to succeed at Daytona

Written By Unknown on Sunday, 8 July 2012 | 03:20

DAYTONA BEACH - Tony Stewart is accused of past Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth on the last lap of Saturday night, and then clung to win the Coke Zero 400, as its rivals piled in a scrum at the Daytona International Speedway.

Kenseth and his team Roush Fenway Racing, Greg Biffle, probably would have made a last attempt to beat Stewart, Biffle, but moved and cars began to slide down the track.

Nobody could have Stewart, who walked away from his third win of the season. The Sprint Cup defending champion is tied with Brad Keselowski for the most wins this season.

About 90 minutes before the race, NASCAR senior vice president of operations Steve O'Donnell has announced that AJ Allmendinger was suspended for a positive drug control at random.

Sam Hornish Jr. replaced him in the car.

Hornish finished 33d in the race.

The situation forced officials Allmendinger Penske Racing to fight for Hornish to the track in time for the race.

Allmendinger sample "A" taken last weekend at Kentucky Speedway was positive. The driver has 72 hours to claim their shows'' 'B can be tested.

Allmendinger was scheduled to start the eighth inning.

Hunter-Reay wins wild IndyCar race in Iowa

Written By Unknown on Saturday, 23 June 2012 | 21:55

NEWTON, Iowa - Championships and renowned stars were falling left and right and a crazy Saturday night at Iowa Speedway.

Ryan Hunter-Reay to keep the car clean, made a motion late and not so quietly forced the championship debate.

Hunter-Reay past Scott Dixon, with 12 laps remaining and clung to win a second consecutive week in the race that ended with caution.

The winner last week at the Milwaukee Mile, Hunter-Reay moved to second place in the season with his seventh career IndyCar victory - the most among active drivers in the United States. The victory was the fourth in six races in Iowa Andrettti Autosport

His teammate Marco Andretti was second, followed by Tony Kanaan and Dixon. Andretti won last year in the 0875-mile oval.

"Hunter-Reay was logical to have won with caution, because 10 of the 25 cars failed to finish.

Dario Franchitti pole was removed after his engine exploded before the green flag fell - a strike that could paralyze his shot on the fourth consecutive title in the series.

Championship leader Will Power was restored after only 68 laps as EJ Viso hit him from behind.

The cord was cut to three points.

James Hinchcliffe, who entered the race second in the points chase, caught the wall and did not finish well.

A career of a delay of 45 minutes of storms and marked by a series of accidents beginning it seemed clear, finally, with 71 laps to go.

Not surprisingly, will not last long.

Leader Ryan Briscoe, drifting towards the final place on the corner was because the tire. However, almost the same place where it was collected and energy side, Briscoe was punched the newcomer Josef Newgarden.

"You were very far from here." S too late in a corner to make a transition like this, "said Briscoe." Is a rookie and he learned from him. It's a shame because I think the fuel they were able to win the thing. "

Franchitti had probably worked better than anyone in his four openings in Iowa

Saturday night, could barely started.

Franchitti won here in 2007 and 2009 and reached the pole on Friday after winning the last of three qualifying hoses. But Franchitti said the same engine he used to win the 500 Miles of Indianapolis, was in May with the principle.

Franchitti up smoking in the car on the straight and was immediately towed off the track.

"It was getting a very strange noise," said Franchitti. "Real disappointing."

It's the first time Franchitti was unable to finish the road back to the last row from the first event in 2004 and 2005. Not long before the switch to join Franchitti Paddock.

The power was just above the lower side of the track when he grabbed the back of the inside No. 12 car. Accused could face quickly to block, just two weeks after the ignition has been sanctioned by blocking Tony Kanaan, his teammate Viso KV Racing, Texas.

"He just blocked, locked and I knew that you could not go down more," said Viso. "He simply followed his path and I had nowhere to go.

This is not a question of will you use to know, to be cleaned. This is the second race in a row that has hit someone on my team . It's very disappointing. "

In its favor, to acknowledge his mistake after seeing the replay for the first time.

"Oh (whistle) Oh, I see. I even got the call that was under me. So I feel, my friend, I never even knew was there. I feel bad for him," he said Power. "I can not believe (it) What happened as I hit".

Cara is also shown dissatisfaction with the Power Key jumping pit and waving the Australian style. At this time, Franchitti went to the NBC Sports broadcast booth, where he received a blow in the face.
