Wu, 26, may leave the London Olympics as the most successful in this sport with Guo Jingjing to retire, if it wins its remaining three test meter springboard to add to his five medals won today.

He won the last two gold medals in sync with Guo in Athens and Beijing.

Wu has the opportunity to join Guo, with six Olympic medals in the individual three-meter springboard, which has its end, on August 5.

Wu said that the key to victory on Sunday was their relationship with Him, who is making his Olympic debut.

He said the gold medal was the culmination of a longstanding dream.

"I did not expect it may become an Olympic champion. Now my dream has come true," he said.

Heymans with his bronze he won his fourth consecutive Olympic medal.
