Tiger Woods is not surprising that you can return to the top of world rankings after winning the British Open and does not feel impatient because they have built a great four years, the U.S. said Tuesday.
The 14 times champion of the major, who has not won one of four major tournaments after the U.S. Open 2008, fought his return to form and fitness in recent months due to personal problems and injuries.
"I just try to get there," he told a press conference. "I think if I do not give enough times, after winning major championships."
Woods, 36, said he was glad to be back in full form.
"First of all I had to go through the whole process again only to be healthy," he said. "Receiving a spanking, and without the big leagues, because in a couple of years, suddenly there was a lot of fun.
"I lost four only because he was injured. I guess if I'm healthy, I prepare myself well and I get the big championships."
Woods, the world number four, is enjoying the chance to play the challenging links Lytham course is expected to be difficult because of humidity and wind conditions.
"I think the creative decision making is vital when playing a links golf course," he said. "I think it is something that is removed in the course of modern design.
"There are many different options and five degrees of change in the wind of changes throughout the year and changes the game plan." S all just amplified. "
Woods said the decision to hit a draw was a ball that could travel up to 50 meters ahead.
"This is something you are trying to understand," he said. "Meanwhile, what path should hit the golf ball? S something I've always liked."
Woods has fond memories of Lytham and won the silver medal for the amateur guide to the British Open in 1996.
"I remember that hot in the second round," he said. "I think he make seven birdies in a stretch of 11 holes or 12 holes spread out. I have published 66 of that day and I thought it was a pretty good result.
