HOUSTON - Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson star runner was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after an incident in the early morning in what police said it took three officers to submit it.

Peterson, who is from Palestine, Texas, was released Saturday on a deposit of $ 1,000. The charge is a felony.

The team spokesman Bob Hagan said the Vikings "are aware of the situation and are gathering more information."

The Police Department spokesman Kese Smith said Houston Peterson was at a nightclub in the heart of Saturday morning when an off duty security officer of the Houston Police Working asked Peterson and a group of people who were to leave because the club had closed.

The man, who Kese has been identified as a police officer, left to tell other customers to leave the club before returning to the group once again say that Peterson leave.

Kese said Peterson turned around and told the officer that he felt the first time and pushed him on the shoulder, making him stumble.

The official said that Peterson was arrested and put their hands behind their backs. Peterson began to cry, broke up and "took an aggressive attitude," so that another officer out of service came to help. Peterson has had problems with both, police said.

The player is 27 years old, was eventually handcuffed, with the help of a third off-duty officer. Peterson complained of shortness of breath after being transferred to a prison in Houston and was examined by the staff of the Houston Fire Department, which said it was fine.

Peterson ran for 970 yards and 12 touchdowns last season before tearing the ligament and medial collateral above the left knee on December 24.

The injury shortened season broke a streak of four consecutive seasons of at least 1.200 yards on the ground by former Oklahoma star.
