Tony Stewart continues to succeed at Daytona

Written By Unknown on Sunday, 8 July 2012 | 03:20

DAYTONA BEACH - Tony Stewart is accused of past Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth on the last lap of Saturday night, and then clung to win the Coke Zero 400, as its rivals piled in a scrum at the Daytona International Speedway.

Kenseth and his team Roush Fenway Racing, Greg Biffle, probably would have made a last attempt to beat Stewart, Biffle, but moved and cars began to slide down the track.

Nobody could have Stewart, who walked away from his third win of the season. The Sprint Cup defending champion is tied with Brad Keselowski for the most wins this season.

About 90 minutes before the race, NASCAR senior vice president of operations Steve O'Donnell has announced that AJ Allmendinger was suspended for a positive drug control at random.

Sam Hornish Jr. replaced him in the car.

Hornish finished 33d in the race.

The situation forced officials Allmendinger Penske Racing to fight for Hornish to the track in time for the race.

Allmendinger sample "A" taken last weekend at Kentucky Speedway was positive. The driver has 72 hours to claim their shows'' 'B can be tested.

Allmendinger was scheduled to start the eighth inning.
